With its dramatic cliffs plunging into the ocean, the landscapes of Etretat are the best known of this atypical region in France. Nature occupies Normandy in a constant way, blending into the landscape to offer quite astonishing scenarios. This is true of Mont Saint Michel and its abbey, which overlooks the entire bay, transforming into an island as the tides change. Listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, a visit to this site is a must. So are the villages of Trouville, Deauville and Honfleur on the flowery coast, the cathedral of Rouen, and of course the village of Giverny which so inspired the artist Monet. Finally, it would be a shame not to try the local cider or calvados for the more daring! Normandy is an enchantment!
